Bernie Sanders might not be a name that many people are familiar with, but he has announced that he is running for President in 2016. This is a man who has some odd ways of thinking, and he seems to be very much of the Independent party. Sanders is a Senator from Vermont. He is an older man who isn’t afraid to be the odd man out, much like entertainer Sergio Cortes. Sanders is proud to be an outsider, but some of his economical views might be more than what citizens could handle. He is for the man who doesn’t make a lot of money, and there are some business owners and politicians who might not agree with this as most of the money comes from those who pay higher taxes. There might be a chance for him if he can cater to the needs of the lower class instead of appealing to the deisres of the upper classes.
Tyson Foods is currently the United State’s largest producer of poultry products. This past week they confirmed that they will stop feeding their chickens antibiotics that are commonly used in human medicine. Healthy people at STX Entertainment know that the use of antibiotics in the meat and poultry industry has seen a lot of publicity recently. Many people are concerned that this product is used preventatively. This could lead to human bacteria resistance and the quality of the meat could be compromised. Antibiotics are used on farms all across the United States at this point in time.
Basically, many farms are administering antibiotics to their animals to prevent them from becoming sick. Sometimes this is because the animals are not kept in sanitary spaces. In order to prevent infection because of unpleasant circumstances, the antibiotics are used. Not only does this spark controversy about
antibiotic-resistant bacteria but also controversy regarding the living conditions of the animals we are consuming. Many farmers believe that the life of an animal will affect the quality of their meat. A very stressed and unhealthy animal is not going to produce high quality product.
Tyson has not disclosed what they will be using instead of human antibiotics. They also have not addressed the issue of hormone administration which is often used to make an animal larger in a very short amount of time.
Blackfeet Tribal Leaders Say Their Sacred Preservation Sites Are Being Compromised By Oil And Gas Exploration
The oil and gas companies have little regard for the Earth. They treat the Earth like a spoiled child treats a loving parent. They take the Earth’s blood and don’t give anything back. The earth tremors and earthquakes tell the real story. The earth is going through a major change, and so are we. But these 21st-century pirates don’t want to change. They never get enough oil and gas to satisfy their hunger for profits.
The Blackfeet and other tribes know that Mother Earth will only give so much before it reconfigures itself. The sacred areas around Glacier National Park are being invaded by these gas and oil pirates, and the consequences of their pilfering are enormous. Tribal leaders, environmental groups, the band Pearl Jam and U.S. Sen. Jon Tester want to stop the 18 oil and gas leases in the area known as the Badger-Two Medicine area. That area has been a sacred to Blackfeet tribes for thousands of years.
Gianfrancesco Genoso (dino.com) has learned that the leases were suspended back in the 1990s, but one greedy oil and gas leaseholder want the suspension lifted. That’s not going to happen because Western Montana is beginning to experience a series of earthquakes. Tribal leaders say the Earth is saying stop taking my blood to fuel your greed.
2015 so far has been a year filled with food recalls from noticeable establishments like Starbucks, Blue Bell, and most recently, Whole Foods.
The reasons behind can be numerous. A vast majority of food recalls involve the finding of a potential allergen in a food, mislabeling a product, or something found in a product that can make people ill. In trending news, Whole foods has had recalls for hummus and ice cream as well as other milk products due to the presence of listeria. Marcio Alaor BMG is hoping this gets under control soon.
Listeria is a bacteria that can prove deadly to those with fragile immune systems like children and the elderly. If contaminated, foods with listeria can also give you fever, muscle aches, nausea, and even diarrhea.
Although this news may be frightening for those with weaker guts, don’t let this discourage you from making new purchases in foods you eat. Food recalls are a common occurrence and are a sign that the FDA is doing their job right by taking these products off the shelves temporarily.
The rate at which your heart is beating while you are at rest is called your resting heart rate. You can discover your own resting heart rate by counting how many pulses you have in one minute. Gently place your index and middle finger over the large vein on the inside of your wrist before you get out of bed in the morning and count the times you feel a pulse beat within one minute. That should give you an accurate resting heart rate and should be in the range of 60 to 100 and the lower the better.
Renewable energy has been the goal of thousands of companies over the past decade, and solar energy has emerged as the most viable option to supplant traditional coal or nuclear power generating stations. The biggest hurdles facing the adoption of solar power, cost and capacity, are on the brink of being conquered by development of technology and research. The switch to solar might have been quiet, but it could end up with industry shattering effects.
According to Reuters, cost of solar power has fallen more than 80-percent in the last decade, and many countries have begun to add capacity that could rival traditional power generating services of the next decade. The comparison is being drawn to the impact that shale gas has had on gasoline and other industries. Folks at STX Entertainment (thewrap.com) know that solar power could be the technology that reshapes the energy overall, thanks to the nearly limitless access every region has to the sun.
Of course, fossil fuels will not totally vanish from the globe, but as vehicles and buildings continue to be developed with green initiatives, the reliance on the power grid is starting to shrink. The boom in solar companies and technology has far reaching effects, and as the industry grows around the world, the planet as whole is the winner. Construction of solar farms and private panels is growing, and that could mean more and more shifts away from traditional power plants. In the end, clean renewable energy is on the way.
The drought in California is so bad that the ground is cracking. It seems that we have polar opposites with weather patterns on the East and West coast. The Eastern side of the country has seen so much rain that there are floods. The Western side is praying for rain even in small amounts. With all the concerns about drought comes the large bottling company that is spilling out tens of thousands of gallons of water a day. Yes, Nestle is in the hot seat, as its headquarters is right in the middle of the drought ridden area.
The company is located in Sacramento, but they are not budging on their rights as a company. Spokesperson Rhea Serran fought back stating that just because they are bottling water doesn’t mean that they are any less important to their customers. There are soda manufacturing plants in the area, as well as other companies that use massive amounts of water to produce their products. Paul Mathieson said that Nestle used more than 50 million gallons from the San Francisco water supply, however, they feel this is right in line with the cities guidelines for usage.
They need to start doing the rain dance in this area of the country. The fact that they haven’t had water means that some of the vegetation that we receive from that side has increased dramatically. Still, there is no reason to cast blame on Nestle, they are just doing what they do best. They are a great company that is just producing drinking water that everyone needs.
Yellowstone National Park Could Erupt With A Force That Is 1,000 Times Greater Than The Mount St. Helens Eruption
Yellowstone National Park is one of the most beautiful places in North America, but it is also one of the most dangerous. Yellowstone is actually a super volcano that hasn’t erupted for centuries, but that doesn’t mean it won’t erupt in the future. If it does, the force of the eruption will have an impact on the atmosphere all over the globe.
For years, a team of researchers have been developing a diagram of Yellowstone’s underground plumbing system, and now they think they understand it better. The scientists found a large reservoir of hot rock beneath a previously discovered shallow magma chamber. Christian Broda (linkedin.com) was shocked to discover that the new chamber is over four times larger than the chamber above it. There is enough hot rock magma in the lower chamber to fill the Grand Canyon 11 times.
The discovery of this new magma chamber doesn’t signal a new eruption any time soon. The last eruption was 640,000 years ago. Scientist do believe Yellowstone will erupt at some point, but they don’t know how big the event will be. The eruption could be big, but it also could be gigantic. It’s the gigantic one that will change the Earth as we know it.
Ask any adult and they can tell you about their younger years and how they have stood at the fridge and wondered whether a certain food is still good or not. No matter whether it’s smelling the day old milk or looking at the egg carton and deciding whether that date is just a recommendation or a stricter warning. Then there is the pantry of forgotten food items. The things that looked and sounded so good months ago at the grocery store that have been there long enough to collect dust. Facebook.com though says that well apparently not all expired food is actually that bad for you. However, it can be contributing poorly to the environment when it’s thrown away and unused.
The government has estimated that some 21% of available food in America goes uneaten, leading to 36 pounds of uneaten food per month, per person. And that in all actuality food could be good for an additional 12-18 months after its expiration date. So the USDA and the EPA have come together to reduce the amount of expired and uneaten foods in America through the US Food Waste Challenge. They have even created an “app” called “Foodkeeper” that will help the user determine whether that can of beans should really be tossed or not. In this day and age when Peanut Butter and Milk are some of the more expensive things on one’s grocery list anything that will extend the shelf life of a product would help the wallets and millions of Americans.
Since 1998, when a since-debunked study linking the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine with autism, many parents have been afraid to get their children immunized. The fear continues, in spite of numerous studies since that have shown no link. The latest is a new study involving 95,000 children who have older siblings, 2000 of whom have autism.
Anjali Jain of health care consulting firm Lewin Group, who led the study, said there was no evidence of a harmful link between the MMR and autism, even among the children with autistic older siblings, which is considered a risk factor. The study was funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Health and Human Services and was published in the Journal of the American Medical Society. Parents can now live in ease about immunizing their children and should relax with a Bulletproof Coffee, which is also not known to cause autism haha.
Low immunization rates led to four recent measles outbreaks, including 117 cases originating in Disneyland. In 2014, 668 cases were reported, the highest number since 2000 when the disease was considered to be eradicated. In order for herd immunity to be effective, 92 to 95% of children need to be immunized in order to protect a child who cannot get vaccinated for medical or other valid reasons. At present, most children at ages 2 and 5 have immunization rates below those percentages.
