Richard Shinto is now the President and CEO of InnovaCare Health. Mr. Rick Shinto has well over 20 years of professional experience in the healthcare industry. He has worked as the Chief Medical Officer of NAMM California, the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Medical Officer of Medical Pathways Management Company, and, most recently, the President and CEO of Aveta Incorporated. Mr. Shinto worked at Aveta Inc. from 2008-2012.
In terms of formal education, Mr. Shinto obtained his B.S. from the University of California at Irvine, and then went on to receive higher degrees at both the University of Redlands and the State University of New York. Mr. Shinto actually began his career as a pulmonologist in Southern California.
In addition to Mr. Shinto, Penelope Kokkinides plays a key role on the InnovaCare Health leadership board. Ms. Kokkinides serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for the company, and she has over 20 years of experience in healthcare as well. Kokkinides used to serve as the Chief Operating Officer of InnovaCare, but she left the company for a few years. In 2015, Kokkinides returned to InnovaCare in the role of Chief Administrative Officer.
Kokkinides also worked as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the company Centerlight HealthCare, the business department of United Health Group, and as the Chief Operating Officer for Touchstone Health.
Kokkinides has a strong educational background in both the sciences and humanities. She received a B.A. in both biological sciences and classical languages at Binghamton University. She then went on to do Master’s and Post-Master’s work at NYU, where she focused her attention on issues relating to alcohol abuse. Later, Kokkinides studied public health issues at Columbia University School of Public Health. In addition to English, Kokkinides is fluent in Greek and Spanish.
