Margaret (Maggie) Gill is the president and chief executive officer of Memorial Health. She is also an Ex Officio Member of the Memorial Health Board of Directors. Maggie Gill joined Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) in 2004 as the vice president of finance/managed care. She was elevated to the position of chief operating officer in 2005. In 2011, she was appointed the president and CEO.
Maggie Gill provides leadership for the Medical Center’s vice presidents and physician leaders at various levels within the facility. She is also in charge of corporate relations, internal audit, orthopedics and neurosurgery, trauma services, and facilities management.
Career Growth and Education
Before joining MUMC, Maggie worked at the Tenet South Florida Health system as a financial advisor for five years. Three times, Gill was awarded the Tenet Outstanding CFO Award. Additionally, Maggie worked with various institutions including the Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, Coral Gables Hospital, and the North Shore Medical Center in Miami.
Maggie Gill is an alumnus of the Florida State University where she acquired her bachelor’s degree and later joined Saint Leo University in Florida for her Master of Business Administration degree.
Awards and Commendations
On November 1, 2016, the Georgia Medical Society conducted its 16th Annual Health Care Heroes Awards. The Memorial Health team was highly recognized for various ventures stocking seven awards. The awards recognize individuals who have demonstrated utmost dedication to improving the health conditions and the overall well being of the community. Maggie Gill reiterated that the awards would impact a lot to the next generation as much as it means a lot to the current MUMC team.
Different organizations and individuals participated by nominating heroes in six categories namely: healthcare innovation, institution/organization, healthcare education, physical lifetime achievement, community outreach, and allied health professionals. The Memorial Health scooped six winners including the healthcare innovation award through the Primary Care Accelerated Track Program, which is a collaboration between the Memorial Family Medicine Health Program and the Mercer University.
Eon Health and Memorial University Medical Center Partner to Launch the New Medicare Advantage Plan
The Eon Health and MUMC have launched a new Medicare Advantage Plan that aims to serve clients in Chatham and Bryan counties of Georgia, Beaufort in Hampton, and the Colleton counties of South Carolina. The plan is to commence on January 1, 2017, and the enrollment is underway.
Speaking during the launch, Maggie Gill noted that Eon Health’s focus on preventive health care provides a perfect match for Memorial Health. She promises to work together with Eon Health to enable their patients to live a healthy lifestyle and access the best levels of healthcare.
